This is black hand dyed cotswold sheep's wool. You will receive a zip lock bag of washed and clean wool, which is about one ounce or more. The wool has been hand washed and is clean, so you will find nothing offensive in it. But, you might find a few pieces of hay to pick out. This wool is wonderful and I use it myself on lot of my dolls. It is hand dyed, so you should attach it after you stain your doll, as it might run. Perfect for the black primitive doll hair.
